First week back and a win and a loss for each team.

Welcome to the 2 new gentlemen - Brad and Mark Smith. Farewells go out to Chris Tricker who is departing.

Killers had a 2 - 1 win first up followed by a disappointing 1 - 5 loss. Goals to FJ (2) and Dave Hill. Well I think that this is the case - there’s a history of “adjustments” to information provided. We are working through this though - we now have an “official result provider” who can’t say who scores but does know final results. Goal scorers is a bit more difficult but I think a vote each week is the answer.

The Broken’s first opposition did a tactical withdrawal and defaulted (in fact they were so scared they didn’t even turn up). Fortunately we had nine players, and with a ring-in, we managed to have a very classy game. It was so good, Jim couldn’t help himself and came out of goal for a run around. Second game we lost 0 - 2 to a very good team. While this was a loss, it was still an effort to be proud of.

Results can be misleading. Killer Vees went down 3 - 2 to the Punishers but against a good side like that, it must have been a cracking team effort. The telling thing for me was apparently how serious they got towards the end. Well done guys.

The other result for the Killers was less “cracking”. Nil all at half time - and then losing 6 - 0. You guys must have shown your age (batteries run out on your pacemakers or something??)

The Broken won their first game 5 - 1. Sounds impressive but the opposition goalie was fat and useless. He was so bad, he’s booked in for an eye test on Monday (yep serious, I am). Mark buried his one on ones - and missed far less than normal. Despite the score, this was a good game.

Second game they went down 3 - 0. Competitive but best side won.

Xmas break now - but that’s no excuse for not training everyday. Ok to drop runs to 5km on the 25th though

First time ever and I’m lost for words (except for one word starting with F). A 12 Nil win to the Killers. 12 nil!!!!! Where the hell did that come from? To top it off, a 3 all draw in the first game.

Two hat-tricks for FJ, 4 goals in a single game to Dave, only 5 players, every player scored …. where do the heroics end?

WELL DONE GUYS

The Broken had a 1 all draw and a 2 - 1 loss with Geoff scoring both goals. No juicy gossip or factoids were reported.

Another local derby with The Broken once again taking the honours (6 – 2). Oh yeah, come-on you blue……..

To be fair, having three of their key players away was a bit of a disadvantage for the Killer Vees but that’s life at the top. Thanks to those three for letting me know beforehand – it really does help.

Five different goal scorers for The Broken while the award for the most devious goal of the year goes to Leon – first time he’s ever listened to Jim and it results in a goal.

Commiserations to Geoff who got three into the net only for the hat trick goal to be deemed inside the circle. Damn rules! Mark also scored a hat trick…oops no he didn’t, he kept missing.

An event rarer than a comet hitting earth – Jim made a save using his hands. In fact he did it three times. Now he knows what the gloves are for, he might stop wearing them on his feet.

Seemed strange only playing one game, even Mr Blubber here was ready for another run. Still, back to the two games next week.

Chris and FJ have slightly narrowed the gap to Dave Hall at the top of the ladder. Geoff is still hanging in there and Mark has only played 2 games so is a looming threat.
